The Marina Bay Sands

Following the Marina Boulevard to the Promontory I took the first pictures of Singapore’s skyline and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. There you will see a lot of other tourists and of course the lion, Singapore’s emblem. Singapora apparently means something like “the city of lions”, because the prince thought he had seen lions when they first built this town (but in the zoo you will learn, that there never have been any lions here).

If you want to do all the tourist stuff, do not go to the Fountain of Wealth. It is totally not satisfying (just look at the picture under this text). And also the Sun Tec City Area is only okay for shopping…

Following Bras Basah Rd. I discovered the Church of St. Joseph and enjoyed some coffee at the National Design Center, hiding from the pouring rain outside.
